The Surrealism has decided to stay in Madrid. Some weeks ago finished successfully an exhibition in Reina Sofia Museum that paid tribute to Salvador Dalí, but now the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is displaying another one: ‘The Surrealism and the Dream’.
This exhibition doesn’t focus only in Salvador Dalí, but also on other artists that belong to this movement, such as André Breton, Renée Magritte or Max Ernst. The museum has gathered paintings that are usually displayed in its walls and also has brought some works coming from other museums: sculptures, photos, drawings, collages and movies.
‘The Surrealism and the Dream’ talks about the relationship between the imagination, the subconscious and the art, the basis of this avant-garde movement, developed during the 20s and 30s in Europe.
This exhibition will be on stage in the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum until January 12nd. The general price is 10 euro, but students and retirees can buy a 6 euro ticket. The nearest Metro station is Banco de España (Line 2).
